Bureaucracy Blues is a rehearsal recording featuring five amateur musicians, all artists, performing a song that vents frustration at German bureaucracy. The piece reflects their personal experiences of inefficiency and red tape, channeling anger and humor into a musical experiment.

Planned as a live performance, the show and recording session were ultimately canceled due to the onset of Germany’s first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Despite its unfinished state, the recording captures a raw, intimate energy of collaboration, improvisation, and the creative ways artists cope with institutional obstacles. The work exists as a document of anticipation and interruption, highlighting how external events shape and limit artistic expression.
